- DAY 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park – Game Drive
Your professional safari guide will pick you up early (around 5:30 am) from your hotel in Dar es Salaam. You’ll drive westward for about 5-6 hours to Mikumi National Park, passing scenic landscapes and charming villages. Upon arrival, you’ll enter the park for an afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch. You’ll explore the Mkata floodplain, home to lions, herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and impalas. Late in the afternoon, you’ll exit the park and check into your lodge. This 3-Day Mikumi National Park adventure begins perfectly.
- DAY 2: Full-day Game Drives in Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, you’ll head into the park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Today, you’ll explore deeper areas of Mikumi, including the Hippo Pools, Vuma Hills, and Chogela area, where predator sightings, especially lions, are more likely. Birdlife is also abundant: bateleurs, ground hornbills, fish eagles, and lilac-breasted rollers. You’ll enjoy sweeping savannah views and take time for wildlife photography. This Mid-Range Adventure Tour offers incredible value. You’ll return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
- DAY 3: Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam
You’ll begin your day with an early morning game drive (optional) or enjoy breakfast at the lodge. Depending on timing, you may do a short final game drive in the park. Later, you’ll begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, with lunch on the way. Arrival is expected in the late afternoon or early evening. Drop-off at your hotel, ferry terminal, or airport.
